We have secured a large number of rooms at the Hotel Marcín, where the conference will take place, therefore accessing to discounted rates for those participating in the meeting. Rates are calculated per person based on a 5 night (arriving on Sunday) stay and includes breakfast for the following day (Monday to Friday) and lunch during the meeting (Monday to Thursday). The registration form includes basic options for those willing to stay on a single room, those who are traveling with a guest and for the ones who want to share a room with another participant.     There are several ways to get to Cariló from Ezeiza International Airport (Ministro Pistarini, EZE). Almost all of them involve traveling into Buenos Aires City (BA). A shuttle bus service (Manuel Tienda León, MTL) connects the airport with Buenos Aires city centre every 30 minutes. The trip takes about 40 minutes and costs $9.

  • Chartered Bus. For those interested in getting support for your trip to Cariló, we are planning to charter a bus from Buenos Aires directly to the Hotel Marcín. This will cost $36 for the two-way trip (into Cariló and back to Buenos Aires). Although the timetable is not confirmed yet, it is planned to depart from BA on Sunday 10th about noon. Charter bus back from the Hotel to BA will leave the hotel about 10 am on Friday 15th. Details on departure time and place will be made available soon. To better organise the bus schedule we must know your flight (or land trip) plans well in advance.

    For those traveling on their own we can recommend several options:

  • By Coach (via Buenos Aires). The MTL Shuttle Bus terminal lies very close to the "Estacion Terminal de Omnibus - Retiro" (Buenos Aires Main Bus Station) from where several bus companies connect Buenos Aires with Pinamar, close to Carilo Village. Average trip takes about 4:30 hours and costs about $50. A local taxi can get you in a few minutes to the venue Hotel.
  • By Car. Those of you interested in driving your way into Cariló can get a car directly from the Airport (all main rental agencies are available there). Most of the trip is done on motorways and double lane roads and the meeting takes place before the high summer season when roads get pretty crowded.
  • By Taxi. Although expensive for a single traveler, sharing a taxi (also called "remis") can be a relaxed option to get straight from Ezeiza to the Marcín Hotel. We strongly recommend hiring official transportation (MTL hires cars for about $675).
  • By plane. The closest airport to Cariló is the Mar del Plata Airport (MDQ) (100 km away). If your travel agent offers you this option, bear in mind that planes to MDQ take off from a different airport than EZE, which means you will always have to get into Buenos Aires City. Although the flight takes only about 45 minutes, the overheads and waiting times make it as long as the road trip. However it might still be an interesting option for anyone planning to stay a few extra days in Buenos Aires before and/or after the meeting.

    Last but not least: For those who miss the charter bus on Sunday 10th, Manuel Tienda Leon offers a service Ezeiza - Mar del Plata four times a day (which actually involves driving you into BA and changing bus at their own terminal) for $75. They can also arrange a taxi ($175) to take you into Cariló from that place.
